Our Region® (Grade 4) is designed to provide practical information about natural, human, and capital resources found in regions and used by businesses to produce goods and services. This program is delivered as a series of five 40-minute activities recommended for students in grade four. The self-contained program kit includes detailed activity plans for the volunteer and materials for 32 students.

The students discover how resources come to businesses from different regions. They distinguish between the goods and services businesses produce, and they research and organize resources needed to create a product.

Four:Business Decisions
The students identify how resources relate to business income and expenses. They calculate a business’ profit or loss, reallocating resources when presented with a business challenge.
